Keeping Your Claims History Clean
Risk Management Guide for Janitorial, Maid, & Cleaning Services

Chapter 2: Understanding Cleaning and Janitorial Insurance Policies
Part 4: Insurance Endorsements (aka "Riders") for Cleaning Professionals

As you've read, there's a policy for most risks your maid or janitorial business may encounter. But even comprehensive insurance policies have their exclusions. So what do you do if your policy doesn't include coverage for one of your business's specific risks?

You add "endorsements" (aka "riders") to your primary insurance policies.

For example, say you want protection for property you do not own while it's in your care. Standard Property Insurance won't offer that protection, but you can add an endorsement that does.

Endorsements can quickly and inexpensively fill in the coverage gaps in your primary policies. This allows you to truly tailor your business protection plan to suit your needs.

Below we discuss some riders that may fit your coverage demands and that can be seamlessly incorporated into a cleaning business's underlying policies.
